Introduction

This three day course provides delegates with the knowledge to carry out performance tuning on an iSeries using all of the performance facilities, and to identify and analyse any performance problems that may be occurring.

What you will learn

On completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • State the capabilities of the Performance Tools on the iSeries, and choose the correct tools to use for analysis.
  • Set and monitor the major system tuning parameters.
  • Collect and analyse performance data.
  • Print and analyse the performance reports.
  • Display performance data using a graphical representation.
  • Use the Performance Explorer tools.
  • Carry out capacity planning using Best/1.
  • Use Operations Navigator to help analyse performance.

Who should attend

This course is designed for technical support personnel responsible for analysing performance and carrying out capacity planning on the iSeries.

Pre-requisites

Delegates must be familiar with work management on the iSeries, and should attend the iSeries WORK MANAGEMENT course some weeks prior to this course, following up with a period of practical work.
